1. With the front of your corset unlatched, loosen the lacing so you can fit the corset around your bust and hips. (This can sometimes mean loosening out all the lacing, so sometimes you can tie the ends of the lacing together this will stop it slipping through the centre eyelets and make a loop to help pull on when tightening)
2. Wrap the corset around yourself and fasten the front hooks. Check that the front hooks are centred as it is difficult to straighten once tightened.
3. Pull the cords from the centre until you get a comfortable fit, but not too tight if you are a first time corset wearer (you may need someone to help you with this). Do not try to get the sides of the corset to meet. There should always be a gap. Tie the laces together at the back once you have it tightened.
NOTE: If the lacing or ribbon is too short, you can purchase longer lacing or cord from any craft or sewing shop.
